Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is gearing up to launch its first electric two-wheeler. According to media reports, the company will launch an electric scooter in the Indian market on November 27, which could be the E-Activa. Slogans like ‘What’s Ahead’ and ‘Lightning Bolt’ have been given in the launch invitation sent by Honda.

According to the company, this scooter will be as powerful as the Activa 110 and will get a range of 100 km from a single full charge. It will also be launched with a swappable battery. The company recently unveiled its concept model at the EICMA Auto Show held in Milan, Italy. After launch, it will compete with TVS i-Cube, Aether Ritza, Aether 450X, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 range.

The scooter will be offered with three riding modes: Standard, Sport and Econ. Apart from this, physical keys and reverse mode will also be available as standard.

To power the motor, two 1.3kWh removable batteries will be available, offering a range of 70km on a single charge and a top speed of 80kmph. An electric scooter takes 3 hours to charge from 0 to 75% and 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% using a standard charger.

In terms of features, the CUV e has two different TFT consoles, the standard variant has a 5-inch instrument console, but lacks smartphone connectivity. While the Honda RoadSync Duo variant will get a 7-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for navigation, call/SMS alerts and music control. The electric scooter will also feature an all-LED lighting setup and a USB-C charging port.
